CivicSpoon 12-10-2005, 02:45 PM How do you know vtec isn't kicking in? Are you getting a check engine light? Does it dog out after a certain rpm? iVteC_PoWeR 12-10-2005, 06:03 PM FUCK vtec superbluecivicsi 12-11-2005, 04:18 AM if vtec is not working, you will throw a cel for the solenoid or pressure. kicker1_solo 12-11-2005, 03:10 PM has it ever worked? a lot of times you can't even tell when vtec kicks in on stock civics. get yourself a short ram intake and see if you can hear a difference at 5,200 RPMs, if so, vtec is kicking in. unknownlogistic 12-12-2005, 12:53 AM I have a cold air intake and exhaust on my car. I bought the car a month ago and fixed alot of things but i dont know if it needs a new solenoid or what lol CivicSpoon 12-12-2005, 01:27 AM Sure, go for it :screwy: Schister66 12-12-2005, 10:30 AM idk if VTEC kicks in when the car is in nuetral, but if so, you could get a check light and test the solenoid for current when you rev the car.....just a thought.... Ace$nyper 12-12-2005, 05:50 PM idk if VTEC kicks in when the car is in nuetral, but if so, you could get a check light and test the solenoid for current when you rev the car.....just a thought.... Nope not nuetral or Reverse. CivicSpoon 12-12-2005, 09:54 PM Nope not nuetral or Reverse. lol I remember the discussion about vtec in reverse, good stuff. cjcivic 12-12-2005, 11:58 PM i could never feel vtec kick in on any sohc motor. it sucks! kicker1_solo 12-13-2005, 12:59 AM i could never feel vtec kick in on any sohc motor. it sucks! then there's something wrong with the cars you're driving... Schister66 12-13-2005, 12:44 PM i can feel it in my GSR...its night and day difference...w/o it the topend feels like it doesn't do anything. IDK if this is a bad idea, but when i get it tuned on Crome, there is a setting to change VTEC engagement...i think i'm going to drop it to 4500 and the IAB setting to the same or a little after..... Bad idea or good?? I thought it'd help because that's right after i'll hit full boost...... superbluecivicsi 12-13-2005, 01:05 PM only on the dyno, you will find out where your vtec engagement will be set. Schister66 12-13-2005, 01:14 PM kk guess i have to wait a little while then.....i'm runnin on a porta dyno this spring if everything goes according to plan!! cjcivic 12-14-2005, 10:53 PM of course ur gonna feel vtec on a gsr...its a dohc! my gsr motor feels like i just pushed the nos button! ok, not that hard...but hard it pulls pretty damn hard. Schister66 12-14-2005, 11:09 PM DOHC>SOHC you can feel VTEC finally! snowman2005 12-15-2005, 03:53 PM best vtec crossover is before ur lower lobes starts loosing power. dont fuck around with it untill your on a dyno. to check if vtec kicks in or not just drive the car. if it feels like it completely looses power way before redline then there might be something wrong. if it revs nice and smooth then u should be ok. dont do this with the car in neutral. never figured out why people rev their car to redline while no moving. eurobeaner 12-15-2005, 11:38 PM heres vtec... 3000....4000....5000....6000...7000 (rpm) waaaaaaaaaHAHHHHHHHHHHHHHBLABLA thats what mine does....haha... lol Schister66 12-15-2005, 11:45 PM that was a nice technical explanation...:p eurobeaner 12-16-2005, 05:15 PM i thought so.... lol... that what it does though, on a z6.... and the blabla at the end (7200rpm) is the rev limiter.... bounces off bla bla bla...lol vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
