Ok i have a 1995 Civic EX...it has vtec..however vtec isnt kicking in.. could i need a new solenoid? Where is it located? and what do they cost

How do you know vtec isn't kicking in? Are you getting a check engine light? Does it dog out after a certain rpm?

if vtec is not working, you will throw a cel for the solenoid or pressure.

has it ever worked? a lot of times you can't even tell when vtec kicks in on stock civics. get yourself a short ram intake and see if you can hear a difference at 5,200 RPMs, if so, vtec is kicking in.

I have a cold air intake and exhaust on my car. I bought the car a month ago and fixed alot of things but i dont know if it needs a new solenoid or what lol

then there's something wrong with the cars you're driving...

i can feel it in my GSR...its night and day difference...w/o it the topend feels like it doesn't do anything. IDK if this is a bad idea, but when i get it tuned on Crome, there is a setting to change VTEC engagement...i think i'm going to drop it to 4500 and the IAB setting to the same or a little after.....

only on the dyno, you will find out where your vtec engagement will be set.

of course ur gonna feel vtec on a gsr...its a dohc! my gsr motor feels like i just pushed the nos button! ok, not that hard...but hard it pulls pretty damn hard.

you can feel VTEC finally!

best vtec crossover is before ur lower lobes starts loosing power. dont fuck around with it untill your on a dyno. to check if vtec kicks in or not just drive the car. if it feels like it completely looses power way before redline then there might be something wrong. if it revs nice and smooth then u should be ok. dont do this with the car in neutral. never figured out why people rev their car to redline while no moving.
