i came... i saw.... i conqueredUnderground_Killah 12-10-2005, 01:39 AM Tonight i had to replace the low beam headlight on a 01 tiburon of my girlfriend/fiance. holy crap talk about a pain in the butt. for those who have not done this before and need a little help, when you remove the circular cover piece for the headlight (H7 sylvania i believe.. that or h3... i don't remember right now) there is a little metal clip that holds the actual bulb in place. remove the power wire assembly before even trying to remove the bulb. it just pulls out. after that, there is a screw on the right hand side (as you are facing the car) loosen that screw, not the one on the left because it won't really help you out (i learned that the hard way) when you loosen the right hand screw, just click down on the clip and it will unhook itself and the bulb will pop out. just remove the bulb, put the new bulb in... before you rewire it, clip the clip back in the origional place and retighten that screw on the right hand side. (if you try to do it when it's plugged into the wiring harness you will not be able to successfully clamp it in place) when the screw is tightened, simply plug it back in and rescrew in the cover and voila! your done. me... on the other hand.... loosened both screws so the damn clip popped out... so i spent 20 minutes trying to get it back into place... it was my first time replacing that light bulb. tibby01 12-11-2005, 02:06 PM lmfao. you dont have to loosen any screws. take off cap, undo harness, push in springy "pigtail" clip and pop it off the hook. put in new headlight. go try it again in the sunlight and i think you will find it to be quite easy. Underground_Killah 12-11-2005, 11:12 PM maybe the sunlight would help, but i pushed that spring part in every direction (plus i have big hands lol) and it just wouldn't go... when i loosened the screw it just popped right out. tibby01 12-12-2005, 01:55 PM you have to push it down and then out a little bit. look at the hook it is locked on and you will be able to figure it out easily. Underground_Killah 12-13-2005, 08:31 AM i see what your talking about.... it's just the battery is so close to the headlight area it's hard to see in that crevace... either way will work. majikTib 12-22-2005, 02:21 AM the headlight bulb is hard to get out, especially with the battery in the way. And yes, it's an H7 bulb. The bulb is also meant to be in there a particular way. There are notches on the bulb's metal base, they match the inside of the headlight. Line them up and the spring will be MUCH easier to get into place. If they aren't lined up properly, then it doesn't sit flush against the inside of the headlight housing, and it'll be harder to make that spring close. I hate that spring, such a pain in the rear.
