I would like to replace the Stock Single CD Player in my 2001 Altima. I have a wiring harness and have read the instructions and it looks like an easy task once I remove the factory radio.

But removing the radio seems a bit tricky. I noticed 2 screws right above the cd slot. I removed those 2 screws, but the plastic panel did not come loose. I tried pulling the panel out, but it seems like some hiddens screws are holding it in a place.

Any help would be appreciated.

If your 2001 is comparable to my 2000 GXE, you need to carefully pry up the trim piece that surrounds the shifter with a flat head screwdriver or small pry bar. There are two additional screws under that trim piece. Once those screws are removed you should be able to remove the trim piece around the radio.
