2001 Silverado 4.3L V6 MISSFIRE ISSUESma2popeye 12-06-2005, 10:45 PM Hey Fellas... Hopefully someone can give me a place to start... I've had this 01 silverado 4.3L V6 for a couple years. Bought it at 54,000 miles. Now it's 96,000 and so I got plugs, wires, cap, rotor to replace. Plugs- Delco OEM platinum plugs Wires- Bosch from autozone Cap- Borg Warner from oreilly's Rotor- Borg Warner from oreilly's Now I've been working on cars for years but this has me stumped. I replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor today. fired it up and it's got a miss. Sounds like one cylinder. All the wires are hooked up right, but still missing. I triple check my connections on my plugs and cap. STILL MISSING. Then I get the bright idea to interchange the cap and rotor with the old ones... seeing as how everything was FINE before I started. Now it misses WORSE!!! At this Point frustration took over and I quit for the night, to resume in the daylight tommorow. Crappy wires maybe? bad plugs out of the box? The truck ran fine before I replaced everything. The plugs I took out were in bad shape. Also the wires I pulled off were bad. I'm pulling out my hair over this. It's ridiculous. *replaced everything and NOW it's Missing bad... sounds like 3 cylinders not firing. GRRRR... Someone Please help, advice, experience, memoirs from a great stripclub... anything that will improve my mood and solve this problem!! :P wafrederick 12-08-2005, 02:55 PM I see one problem, plugwires from Autozone. All I heard nothing but problems with plugwires from AutoZone.Take the plugwires back and get a high quality set of plugwires from somewhere else vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
