Disabling auto door locks on '06 Silverado?

I recently purchased an 06 Z71. I really enjoy the truck except for the annoying GM "so-called" safety features. The doors automatically lock and I can't figure out how to disable this. The owners manual says there are 2 modes to lock:
1. When the truck is put into gear, the doors lock.
2. When the vehicle reaches 8mph, the doors lock.

There is no setting to disable the door lock feature.

For unlocking:
1. driver door only when put into park
2. all doors when put into park
3. all doors when key is removed
4. no doors unlock at all.

I want to disable the lock! I am smart enough to lock the door when I need to and find it very annoying to drop someone off at the door and the door won't open.

My reason for saying that GM has an annoying safety policy is because my 03 Monte Carlo has DRLs and GM won't allow you to disble them unless you work for Public Safety. They aren't even federally mandated, but GM believes they are smarter than us.

Any help on the locks will make me a happy camper.

The DRL's are easy... pull the fuse or the relay, at least thats all I had to do on my buddys suburban... Locks, good luck with that one, It's part of the programing in the BCM!

To disable the DRL/headlight turn your headlight switch to the left and DRL/headlight will be turned off until the next time you turn the truck on.

The DRLs in the Monte are different than the truck. They are part of the BCM on the Monte and throw an error if the relay is removed or the fuse is blown. Removing the bulbs also throws an error. The trucks appear easier as I only had to pull the relay on my 2001.
