1993 Civic EX for 4250CBA_135 12-06-2005, 06:48 PM Okay, I just need some inspiration on this matter. Should I get this vehicle for the price listed..? This is what is written under the vehicle's picture (it's black) 1993 Civic EX Sedan New VTEC Motor New clutch, muffler, AC compressor & Evaperator, complete tune up w/ all belts and hoses. 170,000 K miles. Soudn like an okay buy? Please provide incite. CivicSpoon 12-06-2005, 07:17 PM Sounds pretty expensive to me, like $1,000 too expensive. I highly doubt it has a brand new engine in it, it's most likely just another engine with less miles on it. You could get a newer engine (newer than '93) for around $350 or even less if you shop around. And the other new parts could be had (some from a junkyard) for roughly $400, and most are basic tune-up/maintenance stuff that needs to be done anyways. So figure around $800 for all the "new" parts on it, and add that to the price of the car; which should be anywhere from $2,000-$2,700 depending on condition (interior, exterior, rust, and mechanical issues). Either way $4,250 is too much, keep shopping around or try to talk them down quite a bit. Ace$nyper 12-06-2005, 10:54 PM for that 2 words well a compound word more like. fuckno CBA_135 12-07-2005, 06:32 PM Damnit man... I want a damned VTEC Civic. A friend of mine has an '00 Civic Si (I think). He baught it for 7 grand. He was suggesting that I buy the car... But I think he's just a Honda junkie. Originally, I just wanted to buy a beater Honda and swap a H22A7 out. CivicSpoon 12-07-2005, 07:28 PM Just because it's vtec doesn't mean a damn thing. Most likely it's the d16z6, a 125hp stock '92-'95 EX and Si engine. If you're just going to do a swap, buy a car with no engine in it. Ace$nyper 12-07-2005, 07:29 PM Damnit man... I want a damned VTEC Civic.       CBA_135 12-08-2005, 09:27 PM Oh well... I suppose I'll continue to search around. The problem I have with JUST getting a shell is that I need something to drive around in for a while, while I resave up for an h22a. Vtec95Civic 12-08-2005, 11:58 PM I paid 4200 for a 95 Civic EX with 88k miles.. so I would say not a good idea. CBA_135 12-10-2005, 03:46 AM Is your vehicle a good and reliable one? I ask this because I found a Civic EX for... well, read the below: 1997 HONDA CIVIC EX, 5 spd, 2 dr, cold air, cd, new tires, like new in and out, sunroof, 119K mi, $3750 obo http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=192906134&dealer_id=57222181&car_year=1997&search_type=used&make=HONDA&model=&distance=25&address=32703&certified=&advanced=&bkms=1134202294553&max_price=&min_price=1&first_record=51&end_year=1997&start_year=1997&isp=y&pager.offset=50&lang=en&cardist=8 CBA_135 12-12-2005, 11:31 AM I'm having lucid dreams of someone answering my last post. Schister66 12-12-2005, 12:06 PM that's not a bad price there....but i think if you're going to do a swap, you should get a cheapo car w/ a gazillion miles.....btw, i would do a GSR swap rather than an H22....but that's just me CivicSpoon 12-12-2005, 12:31 PM .....btw, i would do a GSR swap rather than an H22....but that's just me Yup, that is just you :D Schister66 12-12-2005, 12:48 PM ^^^ i like my GSR and i think everyone should have one!! :p CBA_135 12-12-2005, 01:32 PM I thought about a GS-R as well, but I like the options with an H22. There are two other options: 1981 Honda Civic Wagon with 111k miles on it 2,450$ (breaks, belts, fuilds replaced) & 19xx Toyota Camrey, not sure of the mileage 1,000$ Schister66 12-12-2005, 02:11 PM those kinda sound like dead end cars....the Civic is too old to do a lot to, and idk anything about camrys.... cjcivic 12-13-2005, 12:01 AM i will sell u my 94 civic with a gsr swap for 7000 CBA_135 12-13-2005, 07:07 PM What years is the GSR?
