Thanks!! I advise that you check on the eBay listings. I put in a search for a 1992 Honda Accord O.E.M. converter on eBay after a local shop quoted me over $530 to replace the converter. My old one was collapsed and rusted out. I was able to get a Honda O.M.E. converter from a private party, off of a wrecked Accord in outstanding shape, for $47.00 with shipping. But beware of some of the "New" aftermarket converters because most are simply "by-pass" tubes that only fill in the space where the O.E.M. converter is susposed to go. Since it was a simple "bolt-on" I only had to buy four new self locking nuts and two new gaskets from the local Honda dealership for $8.42 and installed it myself in less than an hour. burrelld 12-29-2005, 03:17 PM [QUOTE=burrelld]I advise that you check on the eBay listings. My old one was collapsed and rusted out........................................... I just checked on eBay for a 1997 Mercury Sable CAT converter and there are five presently available starting at $35.00 up to $70.00, plus shipping. http://motors.search.ebay.com/Sable-cat-converter_W0QQfromZR40QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQfstypeZ1QQ ssPageNameZRC0021 drdisque 12-31-2005, 10:31 PM those converters aren't actually made for a mercury sable or taurus, they're generic converters and will only work on replacing the 3rd cat on a sable. The sable's front 2 converters are integrated into the Y-pipe and have bends in them so generic converters can't replace them. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
