I was on the freeway boosting 10 psi then I shifted to fourth gear and it only boosted 6-7 psi. So I got off the freeway turned hte car off and looked to cracks in the all the intake hose no cracks that I can see. so after about 5 min. of he car just sitting I started the car and it ran fine 10 psi from 1-4 gear when I hit 5th 6-7 psi. sometimes it runs 6-7 psi 1-5 gear. what could this be? thanks

uh what rpm are you shifting into 5th at?

lol, the rpms dont drop. the rpms keep going up but it just wont boost past 6 psi or so. but when I turn the car off it will run fine 10 psi for a while then the boost just suddenly drops.

go buy yourself a boost leak tester...

it has about 96,000 miles.thats what I was going to do next. its sounds like there is air leaking out of the lower intake hose on the passanger side. but I did run the codes and it came back as code 55.

sounds like a boost leak...get a boost leak tester and check EVERY connection. beings the Z32TT is a Boost Piping nightmare, leaks are notorious for the Z32. good luck!

no problem...also check your recirc valve if you check all other connections. remove the return hose to the charge pipe and hold your hand over while someone revs your engine. if it is leaking then you need a new recirc valve...

just pray that your wastegate actuator isnt malfunctioning or you have a crack turbo housing. both would involve pulling the motor.

i know, i have heard the word learnt before and i know it is a word. but i was taught that it is not grammatically correct. go ahead...come to my area, they will look at you stupid.

ahh...dude. you cant tell anything from that gauge. its about as worthless as wiping before you poop.

make sure your BOV's are clamped down tight and not leaking.

so I guess Im going to have to invest into a new boost gauge. I was thinking to get two boost gauges onefor each turbo incase something is wrong with one turbo I would know.

I need a new power transister unit. the one on my car is not making a good connection. so I cleaned it but that just made it even worse. it wasent te acutal cleaning of the conncetors it was when I had to twist the wires to get to the back of the c-clicp. oh well they recalled them anyways.

i think it was only on recall for the 1990's. the 91's+ should have the newer style.

ya better get one before it fails completely. i would fix that before worrying about your boost problem.
