1990 integra new distributor/no sparkDaSnowMan5 12-05-2005, 08:07 PM I have a 1990 integra GS that will not start. I have replaced the distributor which included the ignition coil and the ignitor, and I still get no spark. I do have power to the distributor when I turn on the key. I did not replace the cap and rotor yet, but am about to. My question is, is there anything else that could be preventing the spark? The distributor is turning, but for some reason, it is just not firing. I thought possibility of maybe something like a crankshaft position sensor, but I was told this car does not have one. Could the main computer being going out? is there someway to check the computer to see if it is ok still, or just replace it? Thanks, integrawhat 12-06-2005, 12:16 AM did you check the rotor for carbon build up to make sure the points are conecting DaSnowMan5 12-08-2005, 01:56 AM did you check the rotor for carbon build up to make sure the points are conecting Just installed a new cap and rotor, still no spark. Also, I spoke to my brother-in-law, the person whom owns the car, he said that it was running fine the night before, and when he went to start in the morning, there was nothing, when he checked the battery, it appeared the battery acid overflowed and was completely dead. He changed the alternator as he was told it was bad when they supposedly tested it at wherever he got the new one from. Today, I looked around some and started checking the fuses as well. Under the hood in the fuse box there, I found a couple of fuses which were blown, one as the alb12B(I think that is what I remember it being) and the other was the ECU. I changed both, but now I am wondering if maybe my ECU is blown. Is there a way to check the ECU? or a shop that can check them or even reprogram them? Also, any thoughts if there are other fuses or sensors that may be present that if faulty would cause no spark? Also, he said that he had changed a relay main a while back. It is under the dash near the steering column. Could this be a possible culprit as well. Thanks. CrxFreak91 12-08-2005, 04:06 AM is the check engine light coming on when you turn the key to the on position. and to test the main fuel relay turn the key to the on position but dont start it and wait till the engine light goes out you should here a click if no click then the realy is bad. but it does sound like the ecu is bad DaSnowMan5 12-08-2005, 10:15 PM is the check engine light coming on when you turn the key to the on position. and to test the main fuel relay turn the key to the on position but dont start it and wait till the engine light goes out you should here a click if no click then the realy is bad. but it does sound like the ecu is bad The check engine light is coming on when I turn on the key. ok.. so the relay main under the dash by the steering column is for the fuel? then I am not worried about that at the moment at least, because I know I am not getting spark. When I check the ECU for codes, I do not see the light flash at all when I turn on the key. I bought the code tester for the car, and well.. turns out I dont need one, it says, just turn on the key and watch the flashes. Go figure.. haha.. but at least I have it for reference to the codes it puts out. Also, I have the L01 ECU, do you know if the A01 ECU will work? I was told the L01 is for california emmissions and high altitude areas. Anyways, any input is appreciated. Thanks very much. dannyflo316 12-30-2005, 01:16 PM I have a 1990 integra GS that will not start.
