91 300td wagon is 180,000 miles considered alot for a benz?coleld 12-05-2005, 06:21 PM I'm considering a 1991 300te wagon, it has 180,000 miles on it. 6 cyl motor. How many more miles can you get out of these cars. Are they worth it? What are some of the things I should check that typically are a problem. Or would you recommmend something with less miles. I want to use it as a comuter car. Thanks in advance, dt talonlover 12-06-2005, 08:11 PM I have seen diesels regulary get 500,00k if they are taken care of. Sometimes even more! DebSol 01-03-2006, 08:58 AM I have seen diesels regulary get 500,00k if they are taken care of. Sometimes even more! Diesels maybe,, but TE is a gas engine. You can expect milage depending on how the PO took care of it. Could need a timing chain soon, but if it runs good, it'll probably last quite a while. They are good engines. PS Talonlover, I have three MB 300D's, and I think you've been reading too many ebay ads to say that about 500k miles. talonlover 01-04-2006, 08:23 AM A: His topic said TD, not TE, it says TE in the text, and now I see it's a 91 so it probably is a TE, but what can I say? I read TD I answered. B: I don't care how many you own, I have owned a few myself and have fixed more than a few. I know what I say is a fact...A diesel MB can and will turn 500k easy with proper maintanance. I just saw one yesterday with 400k on the clock. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
