TTZX was definately faster but much more of a handful. A lot easier to kill yourself in. But my god that car was fast. I loved handing skylines their ass in that. It was so much fun.

The GTO (VR4) was much more forgiving and easier to push to its limits. And it was far more fun to cruise in. It also also wasnt in perfect running order either. The spark plugs were fouled and the boost solenoid was malfunctioning and only boosting 7psi instead of 11psi. So that would probably account for some of the speed difference. Im yet to go drive in it since that has been fixed.

SL's only came factory with "222HP" which is really doubtfull, becuase alot of mitsu owners have dyno'd their engines, and it'll come out around 205-210 HP (at the crank)

who the f*** pulled their engine to put it on an engine dyno?

the N/A usually dynos in the 180's to the wheels, stock.

the SL's are rated at 218hp to the crank correct?

typically a FWD will have less drivetrain loss than a RWD car because of the transaxle design.

so a 3000GT SL will get more power to the wheels but thise means absolutely nothing when it comes to performance aspect of these 2 cars. th RWD has the advantage in a drag race because of weight transfer and i am pretty sure the Z weighs slightly less. plus things like aerodynamics and suspension also play a roll in performance. i think everyone will agree that even in N/A form the RWD Z has the sports car edge while the SL is just more practical and a cruiser. my :2cents:

I meant dynoing the car, not the engine my fault... yea in 1997+ the SL's engine was rated at 218 BHP... but for 91-96' it was rated at 222...

why the 4hp cut? what was the SOHC rated at? when did they start making the DOHC? when did they switch to the 4 bearing main?
