90 300 ZX fuel injector change PITA?Indycarlover 12-01-2005, 05:19 PM He guys, I am thinking of getting a 90 300 ZX na and the seller says it has #6 fuel inj. is bad... Some research seems to say this is one pain of a job... I changed a fuel inj on a old 240 SX, no big issues there, but it looks like this job is... Anyone do it? 1viadrft 12-01-2005, 05:27 PM I believe the whole upper plenum needs to be removed. If that's the case: PITA! xXxRocker5150 12-01-2005, 05:38 PM lol I've heard it's a bitch too man, but I think we can all agree that the zed to 240sx poonanie attractor ratio is like 20/1 ... Indycarlover 12-01-2005, 07:36 PM lol I've heard it's a bitch too man, but I think we can all agree that the zed to 240sx poonanie attractor ratio is like 20/1 ... You do have and make a major point there...I concure! xXxRocker5150 12-01-2005, 08:38 PM :D I knew you would  freakonaleash1187 12-01-2005, 09:34 PM i have personaly changed an injector on my Z.....and YES, it is a major pain. so many vaccuum lines and electrical connectors to disconnect on the plenum, and you cant even see half of them. my plenum was sitting half-way off for about 2 hours because i tried taking it off after i thought i was done taking all the hoses off, but noooooo, there was still more hoses connected. 1viadrft 12-01-2005, 09:58 PM ^ So you have to remove the whole plenum, right? ^ freakonaleash1187 12-01-2005, 10:23 PM yeah. 1viadrft 12-01-2005, 10:28 PM Ouch. Sucks. freakonaleash1187 12-01-2005, 11:30 PM well, you supposedly can grind a little bit off the plenum and get to the screws, but i dont like the fact of grinding into my plenum. 1viadrft 12-01-2005, 11:41 PM Yuh... that sounds kind Mickey-Moused. xXxRocker5150 12-01-2005, 11:46 PM ^ I agree, I'd be to scared to fuck something up, but I don't like the overall idea of the action either 1viadrft 12-01-2005, 11:50 PM ^ Mr. Motivation! ^ Yeah.. that would suck if you grinded a little too deep. "GRRrrRrRrrrrrrrrind-Craaaaaack! OH-FUCK!" xXxRocker5150 12-01-2005, 11:57 PM hey via, where in cali do you live...??? 1viadrft 12-02-2005, 12:00 AM So.Cal. I'm going to Vegas, B-Yatch! k3smostwanted 12-02-2005, 12:45 AM i recommend anyone that is going to do some serious modding or upgrading on a Z32 to do that grinding down of the plenum. this will make your life alot easier when you have a fuel injector fail. i will be doing this with my new motor and i will also be putting GM plugs snap'n'pull wiring harnesses. i will explain this later. i have learned alot of little tricks from research over the last couple of months. i will share with you guys once i work out all of the details. 1viadrft 12-02-2005, 12:47 AM Hmm... I hope you have another write-up coming along, Jason. Chop-Chop. k3smostwanted 12-02-2005, 12:51 AM Hmm... I hope you have another write-up coming along, Jason. Removing the Upper Plenum with the engine in the car SUCKS ASS. I'd recommend pulling the engine, and replacing the gaskets, if you're tearing into it anyway. -Wes vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
