88 BMW 528E will not idle on startDannyB528 11-30-2005, 01:01 AM Good evening folks,, just changed my spark plug wires + the reference pick up on # 6 wire. Guess what, now she will not idle on start. The caqr starts if I pump the gas, and then will run and even idle. But it is hard to get started, can anyone help me, thans dan ShadeTreeBill 11-30-2005, 11:25 PM Funny thing, same thing has happened to me with my 89 525i. I didn't associate it with the plug wires cause I change the air mass meter at the same time, and thought it had something to do with that. It used to start just fine without giving it any gas, but not now. I have to hold the pedal down a bit, or pump it a bit, even then it seems it won't start until I release the starter, and then hit the start a second time and then it always starts up, and runs "fine" well, runs as good as it usually does anyway. Sorry I am not helpful here, just in the same boat as you. I had not thought it related to the plug wires though until now. I "know" I put them right, so I wonder what could cause this....
