I know you've answered this question many times for the newer blazers but mine is a 1990 and doesn't have the electrical buttons to shift to 4x4. My fluid level is fine but it won't go into 4 high... What can I do?

Will it go into 4L and or 4H when in neutral?

i'd start by checking the vacume actuator under the battery,
i just replaced mine today, the transfer case shifted ,but the front wheels didn't enguage. also take a look at the vacume lines going from the servo to the transmission then the switch then the encoder motor.good luck
my bet is on the actuator, make sure it holds a vacume.

I have an 89 , so I know what you are talking about . Can you move the shifter rod , but the light does not glow ? My bulb was blown . My vacuum line was cracked. My actuater was loose under the battery . My switch was wrong on the transfer case . Many things could be off . give me more info please . Rob
