Scheduled Maintanence-waterpump w/ timing beltjsransky 11-29-2005, 01:41 PM Is it common/preferred to change the water pump and thermostat with the timing belt on a Mazda 2001, 2.5L V6 ES (at 60000). I have heard the engine is the non-interference, but the water pump-being so close to replace it (just in case). One guy says its too early to consider (he'd wait till 120K)-the other says go ahead for an extra 300+...it'll save you double that in the long run? Just looking for some other opinions. Thanks. I was more than willing to pay the extra for it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
