Is it common/preferred to change the water pump and thermostat with the timing belt on a Mazda 2001, 2.5L V6 ES (at 60000). I have heard the engine is the non-interference, but the water pump-being so close to replace it (just in case). One guy says its too early to consider (he'd wait till 120K)-the other says go ahead for an extra 300+...it'll save you double that in the long run?
Just looking for some other opinions.

Thanks.

The Mazda dealer told me not to worry about it when they were already changing the timing belt for me. I was more than willing to pay the extra for it.
