I have a 1997 camry . The check engine light is on all the time. I had the code pulled by autozone and it came up as PO 441. I was told to change the gas cap. After changing the cap the CEL keeps coming with the same code. Please advise.

Thanks.

check and clean the egr valve. check all the vacuum lines to make sure thry arent clogged or cracked, or some other form of damage.

if none of that works, i think there is a charcoal canister in there. Someone else help me out here to make sure but I think there is, it might be bad. just some thoughts...

Thanks buddy,

There was a small pin hole in one of the vacuum pipes leading to the canister. I changed it and after two tank refills the light is no longer there.

The code is still in the computer. Reset this (from a scanner) and it will not come up on a future scan.
