Key is stuck in ignition on a 96Daniel Blair 11-28-2005, 06:14 PM What a great site this is!!! Here is my problem. The ignition key in my 96 Bravada/Blazer won't turn all the way back to the off position so the key can be removed. I found that there is a small solenoid in the column that prevents this unless the vehicle is in park. I have replaced the solenoid but that wasn't the problem. There must be a switch somewhere that activates this solenoid that I can't find. Does anybody have any idea where I should look next? Is there a switch in the floor shifter or in the transmission that activates this solenoid or am I barking up the wrong tree entirely. Thanks for all of your help. Dan jsgold 11-28-2005, 08:07 PM Do not know if this will help but, my 93 S-10 went through this just 4-5 months ago. I had to replace the ignition key switch assy. Just worn out and needed replacing. The switch in the column was fine as was linkage etc. laxman21 11-28-2005, 09:44 PM Same thing happened to me while it was running. Had to replace the ignition lock. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
