My oil pressure gauge is pegged all the way up. The oil level looks fine on the stick. The oil is standard 10W40 and was changed about 1k miles ago.

Any ideas? How do I diagnose oil pressure gauge problems?

Thanks.

Generally a bad sending unit. Pretty common on these. Sometimes reads somewhat high when cold, then goes to full scale soon.

Yep. It is at 80 nonstop.

Is it the "oil pressure sending unit"? Or what is it called exactly? I need to pick one up at autozone.

So where is the sending unit located?

Thanks.
