I have a 2000 4runner , for some reason i cannot go foward until it warms completely up.I can go backwards as long as i want but put in drive ,l,2,od and it barely wants to go like tranny slipping.Once warmed up it will go foward with no problem...Is this the tranny filter?when i change it is there a second spot that i half to put tranny fluid in?

Flush your transmission (not just drain the fluid and replace what came out). Good chance this will solve the problem. There is alot of fluid in the torque converter and valve body that doesn't come out if you only open the drain plug.

The filter is only a screen that doen't normally have to be changed.

Well i dropped the pan changed filter and fluid put it all back together and now...
I have l as soon as i start it along with reverse.
2&drive make me wait till it is warm still..Should i still flush it?
