hello, new to the forum but most certainly not to working on and modding cars. I have a 90 legacy ls awd 5spd and a 93 legacy gt turbo awd auto. I want to take the gt (which has a bad auto tranny) and put all the stuff from the 90 non turbo in the gt. I have a few ?'s on compatability. Can I do an auto to manual swap with what I have ?

Will the 5spd bolt up to the gt engine ? they are both 2.2l
Are these motors the same save the turbo ?
I am guessing I would need to aquire a new ecu if i swap to 5spd ?


If any one knows one or more answers to these questions I would much appreciate the help. I dont need anyone to tell me that this is a big job as I have done this conversion before. I'm just wondering if what I want to do is compatable or not with what I have. Thanks in advance to anyone who may have knowledgeable answers for me.

I just changed the clutch in my 91 wagon. While shopping for prices, it seems the turbo clutches were quite a bit more expensive.
