Going to retire my 1982 Dodge Ram pickup. I've been looking at a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup, but have had a number of people warn me that the Transmissions in these trucks are prone to failure. Any truth to this tale?
My 82 is still going strong, but no body left.(salt zone)

Hill, with the older body style on the trucks, you could go to a wrecker and choose the body works off any Dodge built between 1977 and 1993 and the sheet metal work is almost identical in apperance.
