Hi all,
I have an 02 JGC Laredo 2x4 w/4.0L, auto, with 56k miles on her. Just recently, the truck would be sluggish off the line, as if it would start in 3rd or 4th, then finally kick in and regain power. The CEL came on and I ran the ECU for codes. It came up with a P1757 code and by doing some research, it seems that the trans governor pressure sensor is going out. :banghead: I dropped the pan already because I plan on changing the filter and fluid, but what other components should be changed? And what can I expect to pay at the stealership? I used the "search" option and came up with a R&R for the transducer and governor solenoid, but that was for a 95 I believe. Did Jeep use the same trans in 02 or did they change? Can anyone tell me what trans I have? Thank you for any info!!!

You have a 42re transmission. It was used in the early model 4.0L Grands also. Just make sure you use Chrysler ATF+4® trans. fluid.
And if you have to take it to the dealership...don't. Take it to a transmission shop or a good mechanic that does transmissions --- cheaper.
