a friend of mine has a i believe 97 legacy ill have tha actual year later but it has a problem. while driving the car will be fine than all of a subben it will start losing power and than starts to shake while driving. the check engine light comes on. it happenes a few times a month i believe but it dosent happen every time it drives. but if anyone has has a similar problem with a legacy please leave a note. it is believed to be the computer but that would cost a fortune to repair. the car was a salvage it was in a accident where the car was driven into a telephone pole smack dab in the middle. it has a "pancake" engine. i will have more posted at a later time im doing this all by memory so there will prob be more info later

"pancake" engine?

Does that mean you used a steam roller to flatten the engine, or is it a layman's term for what we generally refer to as a boxer engine or flat-4?

pancake is a layman's term for a horizontally opposed engine like what it used in most small aircraft (pistons mounted horizontally)
