help me out guys. i have a 92' escort gt with a 1.8 engine. it will start up nice. in seconds it will idle really rough and dies. unless i start tapping on the gas to get the rpm to go up... to stay on.once on the road with some peddle, it will run good. can anyone help me out. Thank you.

a lot of people have this problem with there gt chances are it is your vacuum hose or your throttle body to intake gasket some one said that u could spray some WD40 in that area and it will stop temporarily. thats if it is the gasket. if it is the vacuum hose (goes from just after the intake box ti the throttle body) all u have to do is just try to hold the tube and try to push it in to its spot and if that doesnt work try to clean it out maybe there is something restricting the flow. if those dont work u should get your IAC (idle air control) checked out but that is not as common as the other two.
