I hope to heck you removed the knee bolster... noma96 12-02-2005, 08:11 PM the bolts won't come off... the nuts will. I hope to heck you removed the knee bolster... i know the nuts come off but i still can get it off the bolts what is a knee bolster is it the panel right under the stering wheel. can you send me a pic cause i dont know if where talking about the same nuts and bolts thanks alot man rlith 12-02-2005, 08:16 PM yes, the knee bolster is under the steering wheel... I don't have a pic of it but it sounds like you've got the nuts off the correct area. Once the nuts are off the brackets, the only thing that could be holding it up is the knee bolster. Use a t30 torx bit to remove the front screws and a 7mm to drop the lower panels, that will drop the steering wheel enough. Here is a pic at least with an arrow pointing to the knee bolster http://www.pghconsulting.net/teal/interior/int1.jpg noma96 12-06-2005, 05:19 PM yes, the knee bolster is under the steering wheel... You've been working at the base of the column all this time?!!?!?! The bracket for the column is at the TOP of the steering column, just under the knee bolster! No wonder you're having problems! You're working at the bottom, not the top of the column. Nothing needs to be removed at the base. Just the 2 15mm bolts at the top miller88 01-06-2006, 01:28 PM i have a GMc sonoma and i had problems geting it to what u do ispull it as close to the streeting wheel u mite have to bend it. the force the drive side part of it out then swing it around. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
