2001 Grand Am radio lights 1/2 on and 1/2 off.crupian 11-24-2005, 12:32 AM I have a 2001 Grand Am and the other day it wouldn't start so I boosted it and it started fine but now my radio is all messed up. the bottom half of the lights are one but the clock lights and the top half don't come on nor does the radio power up. I checked fuses on the drivers side and they seem fine. I am confused can someone help???? Take it out for a drive to make sure the battery is fully charged and then when you get home disconnect the battery for about 6 hours. Just do it before you go to sleep and reconnect it in the morning. Hopefully that works for you. I would try that before tearing out the whole radio. Good Luck. kafunga 12-12-2005, 01:03 AM most likely the battery is bad and has to be replaced... my 2001 SE1 was doing the samething with the radio lights and problem was gone after I got a new battery.. funny thing is the car was starting alright though I could tell it wasn't getting full revs from the battery... good luck waugusti 01-28-2006, 09:22 AM I have the same problem with my 2001 Grand Am SE. Was the problem solved when you disconnected the battery?
