AC Compressor Keeps Clicking Onmvee61 11-23-2005, 08:57 PM I just bought a 96 Blazer to use as a winter vehicle and noticed that the AC compressor keeps clicking on even though I have the heater on. Is this normal or is there something I need to replace? PBking82 11-23-2005, 08:59 PM Yea thats normal, it's run by the serpintine belt so obviously with the engine running the COMP is gonna be running. Peace- mvee61 11-23-2005, 09:05 PM Yea thats normal, it's run by the serpintine belt so obviously with the engine running the COMP is gonna be running. Peace- Thanks for the quick reply. This site really has a lot of good information. DaveLance 11-23-2005, 11:04 PM The A/C compressor does not always run when the engine is running. It runs when the A/C is turned on (obviously) and when the defrost setting is used. It shouldn't run when you go to vent or floor setting. mvee61 11-24-2005, 09:07 AM The A/C compressor does not always run when the engine is running. I was reading a thread from BlazerLT that also mentions that the AC compressor is used when the defroster is on. I've been driving with the defroster on all day, which definitely explains it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
