2005 4.7 V-8 versus 5.7 Hemiverano1008 11-23-2005, 06:03 PM I heard that the 4.7 is takes off faster than the Hemi because of the hemi's torque. Can anybody verify this or let me know which one is faster? I don't care about top end speed just acceleration. Thanks 1thunder 11-23-2005, 07:55 PM Hemi is quicker hands down neon_rt 11-29-2005, 04:45 PM The 4.7 is really weak on low end torque, a washing machine motor would out-torque it. wehswarriorS-10 11-30-2005, 06:28 PM yes...4.7 is definately weaker down low....but i have a 2002 dakota with 4.7 with a few bolt ons, exhaust, intake, programmer, things of that sort and my buddy has a 2003 reg.cab hemi and i can keep up with him in a straight line....dead even we cant go anywhere on each other, and i have 285/75r16's....so if i put factory tires on i could prolly outrun him...not around curves cuz mines lifted....but straight line could probably do it vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
