I recently replaced the battery on my 98 528i. I got the battery at Auto Zone and it came with all these felt pads and gel for preventing corosion.. My problem is that on the Neg side, the cable is very loose. I've got it as tight as possible, but because of that gel he had me put on the connector just slides around. I've tried removing the gel, but it's still loose, you can easily jiggle the cable around, causing me to loose connection to the battery at times when the car is off..

What would be the best method for making the negative connector on the battery a little thicker, or is there anything out there that's specifically for this purpose??

Thanks

Leo

It depends how old the car is , because if you want to fix it cheap just put a piece of metal (copper is good)between the car cable connector and the battery connector, if you want to do it the right way just go back to auto zone get a newcar cable connector and reconnect it.
