99 durango need help

okay i am working on an 99 durango for an friend the truck burns oil like crazy altought you can't see it in the exhast it passed emission testing with flying colors. it just uses it. other question is the truck use to be quite couldn't hear the motor in the cap but now for some reason you can hear it no exhast leaks transmission shifting about 2500 rpms. anyone got any ideas of whats going on? thanks in advance

i'm guessing you have 5.2 or 5.9L engine so you should start by checking the intake lower pan gasket look down the throttle body for evidence of oil in the lower intake and for the engine noise make sure the clutch for the rad fan is not siezed you should be able to free wheel the fan when engine is off

okay i'll check the oil leak tomorrow it has an brand new fan clutch water pump and raditor the fan i an spin it by hand its tight but its tight like its suppose to be
