Injectors do not fire - Is there a fuse?dangerous 11-20-2005, 05:18 PM Is there thing in particular that would cause the injectors to not fire? Can anyone tell me if there is a fuse or relay for a 2000 Honda Accord V6 VTEC? We tested and do not seem to be able to get an injector response. mpumas 11-20-2005, 06:29 PM There is a fuse. It is usually the same one that powers the ECU. I don't know what one it is on the 2000 but on earlier models it is tied into the main relay also. superbluecivicsi 11-20-2005, 07:14 PM you tested with what? reasons for injector malfunction: a short or open in the signal and power wires of the injectors, blown F/I EM fuse in the under hood compartment, main relay, ecu, the injectors themselves. concerning checking the injectors themselves, put a screwdriver to the injectors and listen for the clicks. if youare not sure, do a 9-12v test on the injectors. polarity does not matter. even if the injectors click, it still doesnt mean they are working. dangerous 11-21-2005, 01:26 AM We tested by inserting a test light in the injector wire. We figured it was grounded all the time and connected the positive lead from the test lite to the battery. While cranking, no intermittent lite ocurred. We checked this on another car and with the motor running (and test lite hooked to positive side of battery) the injector wire terminal made the test lite flicker. We thought it must be grounded all the time and the ECU interupted the circuit to make it fire (?) I looked for a fuse for injectors but found none. Where is the F/I EM Fuse? This is so strange that this ocurred after changing my rear brake pads. Just out of the blue. mpumas 11-21-2005, 02:47 AM On Hondas, the injector resistor is in series with the injector. The injector resistor is at 12 v when the main relay is energized. The ECU provides a ground when the injector is to fire. The ECU is powered by a 10A fuse. The fuel pump is powered by a 15 A fuse. off of the ignition switch. The ECU fuse should be under the hood. the fuel pump should be on the left side kick panel. At least that is the case on the type 4 Hondas. dangerous 11-21-2005, 08:52 PM OK - I found the issue........ Its the damn key !!!!!!!!! I had a duplicate key made and it fits the door and the ignition. It even cranks the car - but the original must have a hidden barcode or circuit board....... case solved. Thanks for all the help guys. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
