97 JGC stalls/engine studdersBarefooter 11-16-2005, 11:37 PM HELP! My car has been studdering, the engine acts like it wants to stall and then starts back up again. I have looked at other posts and changed the CPS and also the battery but the problem seems to be getting worse. I also did a tune-up and changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor and distributor. At first, it only would studder for a very short time and not very frequently. Now it lasts longer (about 10 seconds) and is happening more frequently. I am not sure if this is related but I also noticed that the doors have not been locking at 15mph. Then today they locked at 30mph after it studdered. I would appreciate any help, thanks! jeepfixitman 11-17-2005, 03:34 PM more info 5.2,4.7.4.0,3.7 what motor????????automatic,,,stick,,,, Barefooter 11-19-2005, 02:13 PM more info 5.2,4.7.4.0,3.7 what motor????????automatic,,,stick,,,, The engine is a 4.0 6 cylinder, automatic.
