turn signals on '98 Intriguenovajoe 11-16-2005, 09:25 PM I am having problems with my left turn signal. My flashers work fine. The RIGHT side cornering lamp stays on all the time unless I turn the LEFT turn signal on. I have checked all the bulbs and sockets with no noticable problems at all. My RIGHT side turn signal works as normal. Is there a ground wire somewhere that could have come off? When I turn on the left turn signal, none of the left side turn signals come on and the flasher clicks very fast. Any ideas at all? lunasea808 11-17-2005, 12:46 AM I am having problems with my left turn signal. My flashers work fine. Sounds like one of you're bulbs has a burn out or one of the filament (sp) in the bulb. Check also to see if any of the terminals are melted or burnt in any way. novajoe 11-20-2005, 05:18 PM Sounds like one of you're bulbs has a burn out or one of the filament (sp) in the bulb. There is no apparent melt or burn marks showing in any of the sockets either. Is there a chance that the main electrical connection in the headlight assembly could be bad causing the turn signal to not work? The headlamp assy seems to be in good shape. lunasea808 11-20-2005, 06:32 PM I have checked and replaced with the bulbs from the other side to no avail. Take a multimeter test it out. That's the best advice I can give. The only other option is the stealership, Should be the last resort. Did you check all the fuses? And tried to swap out the lights and or headlight asembly to see if it's localize (sp) to just that one area? panzer dragoon 11-21-2005, 08:15 AM take the bulb out of the right side corning lamp and see what happens to the rest of the bulbs. Check the wire of the right side cornering lamp bulb to see if there is a short in the wire somewhere keeping it on all the time. novajoe 11-23-2005, 11:13 PM take the bulb out of the right side corning lamp and see what happens to the rest of the bulbs. I have changed the headlights from one side to the other to check if each works (the turn signals) and they both work on the right side. I have changed bulbs from one side to the other and taken the right side out, all to no avail. Bulbs from the left side work fine in the right side. I think there must be a ground wire off somewhere or the other possibility might be the turn signal switch itself. I checked fuses too and they are fine, but that cannot be the problem because one side works correctly. If it was the fuse, neither would work. Any other ideas out there? Anyone know where the ground wire, or wires, might be located? lunasea808 11-24-2005, 02:44 AM Hey panzer didn't you have a thread about the circuit board in the headlamp might be bad? That might be it. novajoe 12-03-2005, 02:27 PM Lunasea, I have switched the headlights from one side to the other and each side works fine on the right side of the car. Headlight board cannot be the problem. I have looked at all the wires on the right side cornering light and they all seem good. Nothing seems burnt or broken at all. I am still wondering if there is a ground wire broken somewhere (or off), and what about the turn signal switch itself? Could that be the problem? lunasea808 12-03-2005, 05:19 PM Lunasea, I have switched the headlights from one side to the other and each side works fine on the right side of the car. Did you try a multimeter to test if there any current (sp) or how much resistance is in each wire, you might be able to pin point the break in the wire. panzer dragoon 12-04-2005, 07:44 PM if you pull the one right side marker bulb out a short in the circuit shouldn't matter and all the rest of the bulbs hopefully will work fine. Try pulling out the bulb for now and see if all the other ones work. If they all do I would suspect the wiring in the side right marker light is bad. Sometimes when you are looking at this electrical stuff the electrical schematics really help. Looking at alldatadiy.com or the service manual may be a good idea also. Pull that right side marker bulb out and see what happens. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
