headlight bulb installationkbrewer 11-16-2005, 08:50 PM I replaced the low beam headlight bulb in the a 2000 VW Beetle and it still will not come on, can you suggest anything I may have done wrong. I did not touch the bulb. Is there a low beam and a high beam bulb? 91celicaFB 11-17-2005, 04:54 PM yes, the one that has a lens looking thing is your low beams. Check your fuses, if im not mistaken, they go by "sides" ie) LH controls your left side, Rh=right side Jongy 11-20-2005, 07:16 PM I replaced the low beam headlight bulb in the a 2000 VW Beetle and it still will not come on, can you suggest anything I may have done wrong. I too have to replace a burnt out lowbeam headlight, is there any links to show one how to do the job, from a quick look at the vehicle, it does look like you need a masters degree to do the job, can you help? burkneet 12-03-2005, 07:33 AM after the THIRD headlight blew out, I refused to pay the dealer $100 to replace it again so I DID find a site online that shows the steps and it worked well for me. IF you still need to do this, I will look for the site again.............I also have a Chilton's manual and could e-mail you the directions............again, if you still need to change the bulb! You are right, it is NOT difficult; just confusing to look at without knowledge of these cars which I DON'T have much of.........was my wife's car; now my daughter's who is YET to get her license! Let me know if you still need help! Let me know if you still need help! Because I could not wait too long for someone to reply (by the way thanks I really appreciate it) I decided to take it to the aftermarket repair shop in Ottawa, Ontario called East Motors and they charged me $23.00 taxes included for a good replacement bulb and labour to do it, for that kind of money I did not want to chance it, then one week later the other one went, so I returned to them and gladly waited while they did it for me right away. But watching them it took them only 5 minutes to figure out the release mechanism and pull the entire lighting unit out to change the bulb and reinsert it. - thanks for trying - Jongy vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
