ls tranny swap??sjkelly 11-16-2005, 09:29 AM my ls tranny is starting to go and i am wondering what is the best tranny for it...i am planning on going ls/vtec so i am looking for short gears like the gsr or b16....if anyone has one of these in their ls plese let me know the pros and cons of it ....thanks sjkelly 11-16-2005, 09:35 AM ohh and aso if i do get one of these trannys will i be able to swap my clutch and flywheel from my ls into the gsr or b16...thanks Schister66 11-16-2005, 01:55 PM theres a GSR tranny for sale in the classified section right now....why would you use an old clutch, just get a new one and save yourself hassle in the future....my :2cents: sjkelly 11-16-2005, 04:37 PM its not old it only has 12,000 miles on it and its an aftermarket..(not sure what brand tho) i just want to know if it will fit Schister66 11-16-2005, 04:59 PM it'll fit....if a GSR tranny fits an LS engine, the clutch from the LS should fit too.....at least i would think so superbluecivicsi 11-17-2005, 05:35 AM the B series hydro flywheels, tranny, and clutch are all interchangable. sjkelly 11-17-2005, 09:36 PM so what trabby is better..gsr-b16....does anyone have one of these trannys in their ls Schister66 11-17-2005, 10:14 PM the GSR tranny is pretty close ratio...idk about the B16.....but my GSR shifts from around 8200 to about 6000rpm pretty consistently and does it very smoothly. I'm very happy with it~ integrawhat 11-19-2005, 03:35 AM ive heard the ls trannys are a little quicker up till 3rd Schister66 11-19-2005, 11:41 AM i don't know for sure, but i know they have longer gears than the GSR.....or so i've heard. I've never driven an LS, but the GSR has nice gearing superbluecivicsi 11-19-2005, 01:59 PM vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
