what is going on all you gear heads,,??

Hi I have purchased a 1994 honda accord ex with a broken rod, for 200$$
it has 201.000 miles on it and is in fare condision,
I purchased a used motor for it from a yard and am now in need of a engine harnes( broke the one that came with the car )
OK now for the quetion I have in mind for yall, see I only have knolge of GM cars only and I was thinking of keeping it now, (I purchased it to just for turn over and sell)
So i was whonting to know after 200,000 miles people are telling me that the trany are pron to going out, but this one curently is still red (in color), next if I do keep it i whould like to know just what you (rat racers) see in thes things so i was thinking of cold air intake and exhast work but nothing to radical now being a tech already i know this will help the car and all but ?is it worth it??
