Discusting Engine Bay

Hey, I'm new here...but any way here is my question.

I had a horrible power stearing leak in my 1997 Z28 Camaro. Not to mention an oil leak. Anyway-the pump for the power stearing was just flinging the fluid everywhere. And I'm just learning about cars, so I couldn't fix it my self and when I told anyone who could help me they just told me it would be okay and we would fix it when ever. So it went a very long time just throwing fuild everywhere. Lets just say when we took it out it hardly leaked any fuild. Needless to say my engine is horrible. Is there any way I can get it clean?? I've already used engine degreaser and break parts cleaner....but I can't get into some of those hard to reach places and they wire loom still has grease all over it beause of its ridges...any ideas?

Use Simple Green and a toothbrush for those hard to clean areas. A cheap battery toothbrush with the rotating head (brush) is good to use too. If the oil and grime is too thick or baked on, you may want to consider taking your car to a shop that has steam cleaning equipment.
