So who has had their Aveo wrecked into?04AveoLSPJG5204 11-14-2005, 04:01 AM Had some girl back into my car and crunch the rear driver's door on my Aveo. She was about to drive off too, but she saw me and stopped. Some girls were yelling after she hit it, and she even got out and said "Is it bad?" Its hard not to see a bright freaking red Aveo. The Ponitac she was driving didnt have any damage. She was cute, and very sweet, so I wasnt too mad. Car is in the body shop, I hope it get it back soon. So lets share the stories of our Aveo's first battle scars. Shadow_7 12-07-2005, 01:27 PM No battle scars yet, aside from WalMart leaving a big grease smear on my window/door when they did the first oil change. Of course it was right after I washed the car. And it was labor day so it took them almost 4 hours to do the oil change. But I've had a few close calls. Coming home late at night a double trailor truck decided to agressively merge into my lane, which I was still in. Almost put me into the wall. Good thing it was a construction zone and traffic was only moving 10mph. I need an air horn upgrade and a couple 50 cals mounted to the roof. Or at least a paintball gun. Merging onto the freeway, I got up to 70mph. A red crystler van came up fast on my blind spot. Two open lanes and hardly another car on the road and they don't even so much as swerve. Anyway, I corrected and missed, but was quite disappointed in how wobbly the car handles at 70mph. They must have had their cruise on and were otherwise sleeping behind the wheel. Cars seem to assume you're going slow and actively cut you off because you're in a small car. pnmrr 12-16-2005, 05:42 PM Had some girl back into my car and crunch the rear driver's door on my Aveo. So lets share the stories of our Aveo's first battle scars. I have been rear ended (twice) The first time a young kid was paying more attention to his ringing cell phone than the red light and smacked me in the rear end. From the impact I though this car was toast. When It was all said and done the only real damage was from the screws that held his liscense plate on. Two nice little gouges in the bumper cladding. Seems it was just 2 months old, I insisted on a new bumper and to have them check for any damage underneath. The car took a heck of a whack and survived it with flying colors. Very impressed with the strength of the "little guy". The second one was a tap at about 1/2 the speed of the first. Got out, looked at the bumper, nothing. Based on the first impact just said no problems to the other driver and drove away! ewebster@rfmd.com 08-27-2007, 03:23 PM a deer rammed into the side of my aveo when i had it about a couple of months in 2005 ,had it repaired and now the paint is chiping off the car where it was repaired so i am taking it back to the body shop this afternoon, what would cause it 2 years later ? is it a bad paint job ? orpheus81 09-17-2007, 01:18 PM I hate to admit it...really really hate to admit it, but I took the size of my Aveo hatchback for granted the other night and pulled into a parking spot to tightly...right next to a giant concrete pole...now have a sizable scratch from the end of the drivers side door to just before the rear bumper...driver's side passenger door is dented as well...Takin it to the shop for an estimate today, hoping it's not a four digit repair...all though...looking on line for parts I came across a company offering lambo doors for the Aveo...I'd love to see that! mikedudley17 09-18-2007, 01:36 AM i hit a deer and messed up the front end, but no need for a body shop. i fixed it all myself, headlights were smashed down, hood crunched, bumper misaligned, turnsignal out fo place. but hey gave a great excuse to get a carbon fiber hood, hehehehe! geofrog 09-18-2007, 02:17 AM I have only had the car for about 6 months, had a few altercations. I was eating dinner at red robin in tn a week after buying the car. Someone opened their door into the side of my car and put a dent and a deep scratch by the key hole. the second thing was kind of my fault, was driving down the road when a bird flew up from the ground just before I ran over it. I never saw it fly out from the front of my car until I slowed down to the stop light. then it just flew off, unfortunately it put a nice size gouge in my front bumper. O well gives me an excuse for an after market bumper and ground effects. Ha. the last one probably was at walmart, my guess a shopping cart, but another gouge on my back bumper now. Have fun kris amkm0712 11-19-2007, 09:51 PM Well, just last night a deer ran into the drivers side of my car. 07 Aveo sedan, hood is dented, front fender needs to be replaced, both doors are caved in and need replacement, mirror, and the rear fender. I don't know how much they can actually fix and what will all be replaced. SUCKS, scared the h*ll out of me too!!!! Has anyone ever had enough damage to total the car? Oh yeah, prior to that, I've had my windshield replaced twice. The car isn't even a year old yet. :banghead: mikedudley17 11-19-2007, 09:57 PM that sucks! amkm0712 12-03-2007, 07:56 PM Well the estimate came in at $7186.24. If it would have been $1000.00 more, it would have been totaled!! I don't know if I'm going to keep it. I'm getting it fixed, but it just won't be the same. Besides no one in my family (including me) thinks the seats are comfortable and the cup holders suck. There are other things too, I don't know, I'm soooo confused!!!!! mikedudley17 12-03-2007, 07:59 PM u may as well sell it then if u are unhappy with it. get into sumtin that will make u happy. 2007chevyaveo5 12-10-2007, 09:53 AM A deer hit my 2007 Aevo 5 and and caused very little cosmetic damage (headlight, grill, hood bend) $1800 for fix insurance paid. 25 mph and no airbags went off. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
