At first my tranny wasnt shifting out of 3rd so I pulled over turned the engine off for a minute turned it back on the check engine light came on then as I drove it it wouldnt shift out of first gear. I noticed the shifting problem as I was turning the corner I hit a big hole in the road in mid turn. The jeep was running fine all day until then could this be electrical

Have the code read... It is most likely the Output Speed Sensor on the Transmission... Replaced mine a couple months ago on my 99 Grand Cherokee...

Same here! Exactly the same thing. If it is, replace it yourself...will save you ALOT of money.

Good Luck!
