93LuminaHighIdleAfterWarmedUpStartSpeedProp32Cleaver 11-13-2005, 12:12 AM Hello To The Board: A few questions on my 93 Lumina: 1) Where is the fuel pump relay located on this sedan 4dr model? I'd like to energize the relay with a 12v wire for some testing, but can't find the relay. 2) Where is the crank sensor located? I'd also like to check it with my ohm meter. 3) Finally, this car runs great but has recently developed long crank times after it's been warmed up for the day. Long crank times are 3-4 seconds, then once it does start, the idle is high for about 10-15 seconds. It always comes back down. Engine starts and idles fine on first start of the day when completely cold. Anybody seen this before or resolved this problem? All scan tool items are in check with no codes. The only I've found is the o2 sensor is not switching back and forth as fast as it should. Your input please. Fuel pressure is spot on at 39-43psig. Other than this, car runs great. Thanks. tblake 11-13-2005, 03:10 PM check for vacuum leaks as a high idle usually indicates a leak. I think the relay is located under the hood, by the fuse panel box on the drivers side, under a cover marked "fuel pump relay". Thats where it was on my old 1990 lumina anyways. As for the crank sensor. I dont think you will be able to check it with an ohmmeter, I'm not 100% sure, but I think it may put out an ac voltage much like speed sensors. But i could be wrong. So you will have to check it with an ac voltmeter. Good luck. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
