2005 Altima, passenger side seatbelt lockedamyvision 11-11-2005, 10:52 PM Hello, Does anyone know how I can get my seatbelt working again? It seems to be locked! When you pull it down it only goes a few inches and will not budge? Can anyone help? JustSayGo 11-13-2005, 12:22 PM Auto manufacturers take seatbelt safety seriously. Nissan or any other auto manufacture doesn't want someone injured because a seatbelt malfunctioned or could not be used. Manufacturers tell us that it makes sense that users return in good health (following a collision or otherwise) to purchase a new vehicle. Consider their financial liability factor. The dealership will replace the seatbelt rather than repair it, and possibly have to assume some liability risk. The manufacture will pay 100% regardless of mileage or number of owners. The owner/driver are responsible for maintaining a safe vehicle and that their front seat passenger is using a seatbelt. So take your car to Nissan before you have to pay a seatbelt citation that a judge is unlikely to excuse. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
