It wont start. We get a code 17 when we scan it. Any idea how we can find out what code 17 is refering to?

Points to crank sensor or ign control module. See an rpm reading when engine cranks if not most likely it is the crank sensor or a damaged damper. additional diagnosis should performed though.

I agree with maxwedge, both the crank sensor and harmonic balancers are common problems on 91-95 Vin-L 3800's
