I have a 1980 280zx and sometimes ill turn my lights on and then suddenly the brites come on. sometimes i cant get them to turn back off. sometimes they turn off if i click them a few times. I havent notice it doing because of any bumps or vibrations, but i do see it when other cars pass going the other way.

most likely your headlight switch... mine started doing funky things lately as well...
