got sideswiped by a guy on the highway this morning.. some guy couldn't stop in time and got sandwiched between me and the guard rail.. i'll explain it a little better another time. i'm going to get it looked at.

$2000 worth of damage just to the rear part.. when the guy hit me and passed me, his side view mirror hit mine and exploded, and thank god the 240 has folding mirrors.. mine just folded forward but now the pod that the mirror sits on is loose and could break off so i might get a new one of those.. while i'm at it, i might as well get a new door..

anyways, what happened was some ricer retard (this is legit fucking retard honda pussy ass bitch driver) driving an orange civic with a fart can and rims cut over 4 lanes in rush hour traffic and cut off a car 3 cars ahead of me, which caused him to slam on his brakes, which obviously makes a chain.. and the guy behind me just didn't seem to see the brake lights.. so i saw him barreling towards me and saw that he was gonna try to go between me and the guard rail (this was all in the fast lane) so i figured i'd try to avoid it and pull to the right a bit but he caught me before i could get far enough over.. so he pretty much bounced off me, then the guard rail, then off a jetta in front of me, then off the guard rail again.. there was more damage to the jetta but 240s are not as common so i think i have the right to be more upset. anyways, cop took all my info and gave me a case number.. so the adjustor is gonna call me tomorrow and i'll tell him how much the damage is and he'll send me a cheque..

i'm actually getting a new driver's door too.. the side view mirror pod is loose so instead of getting a pod and mirror for $400, i'm gonna buy a used door for $125, or atleast have it claimed. so now i won't have to pay for the rust work i need done on my door. (theres 2 spots that have grown since i bought it and would cost a fair bit to fix)

It was like 1500, so i got the check and bought coils and fixed the shit myself(needed a new quarter, i just beat the shit out of it and let bondo do the rest. 2k in damage that would be considered totalled here.

and is your door totally rusted through? Or is it just surface rust?? Surface rust will sand off....prime over then paint.

it didnt crease into the the tail-light housing did it?? Then i could see the high price(labor rapes you), but shit dude thats an easy knock out. You could fix that yourself with a body hammer and some bondo real easy. Then find a painter to prime and paint. Just block sand the shit out of it so its straight. The only thing that may look like shit would be the bumper......but im sure you can find one somewhere for cheap. I would not pay 2k for that to be fixed man. Just keep the money(even if insurance pays for it). Holy shit i wish that happened to me, thats like 4-6 hours of work lol. I love getting hit(like that) aslong as its not to much god damn damage. Then i get a nice stash of free money. God damn it, im jealouse lol.

mine looks a lot like that but on the driver's side. and i dont know how thats considered totalled.. unless there was frame damage.. my quote has now increased from $2000 to $2400 (all in CDN) because i'm getting the driver's side mirror replaced..

my door isn't rusted through so i know i can sand bondo and paint, which was what i was going to do this weekend.. but now i might even be abel to have the whole thing painted so we'll see how it turns out..

they're replacing the bumper and the rear quarter will be popped out and repainted. add on a new mud guard and side mirror and you've got $2400CDN damage
