Driver's seat belt won't retractNadinest 11-06-2005, 08:17 AM I am having trouble with the driver's side seat belt. I would like it to retract really fast, but instead I have to push it in myself. I just don't seem to have a strong "spring" like it should. Once, the belt accidentally was left hanging outside the door and it rained that night...so I woke up to a wet seat. Is there any way of tightening things up so it will retract the way it should, or do I need to buy something for it??? Thanks to all that reply. Ridenour 11-06-2005, 08:25 PM It sounds like your comfort-release pendulum is getting stuck. I had the same thing happen in my GA's passenger side seatbelt. It turned out dirt had gotten in there, and was causing the pendulum on the comfort-release mechanism to stick, which was engaging or disengaging the cam when unwanted. You're going to have to pull off the seatbelt "motor" mechanism, take it apart, and clean out the pendulum's housing, and if you put it back together properly you shouldn't have any more issues. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
