Ok I am having a really hard time here trying to figure out what the heck is going on with my nifty little car. I have a 5 speed manual tranny, and I have a clutch inhibitor switch, which I have by-passed, because it seemed to be preventing my car from starting. SO the car worked fine for a week, and now it is doing the same thing as before I did the by-pass, which is; all the lights in the dash come on just as if it would while you are starting the car, but then you turn the key and nothing, not a sound, not a click, not anything. Just had the distributor cap and rotor replaced, so it can't be that, I am not having issues with oil leaking in to it either, I can compression start it, so I know it isn't the starter or the Alt. The wierd thing is that one time after I started it by pushing it, I drove it around for a while, turned it off, and just for the heck of it tried to start it again, and it did, so now I am wondering if it was the inhibitor switch at all to begin with. OK, I have given all the info I can think of, anyone out there have any idea what the heck is going on with my wonderful little car??
