does anyone know what the black wire on the shift knob(4th gen accord) is for and can it be cut? im trying to switch to an aftermarket knob and i don't know what to do about the wire? also does anyone have knowledge of changing the taillights from orange/red to red/clear? meaning that the orange is now red and the red is now clear. please help me:flash:

on 6th gens there is no wire...just took it off recently. pull off the handle & see where the wire is connected. maybe the wire is just looped in there or possibly being the sending wire to the dash indicator.

someone said that it may be to the sport mode switch. im not sure. i just to get rid of it but not mess up my car.
