Where to put sound dampening stuff

my trunk rattles like crazy, i only have 4 10"x10" sheets

where should i place them? like right above the subs on the trunk lid, or should i put them farther away? what

and put some foam weather stripping on the backside of the license plate

thats not enough for my WHOLE trunk lid

You'll probably get the best output from your sub with it sitting right at the back of the trunk (aft) facing backwards. If you do that, the point that's "closer to the sub" and the "end of the car" will be the same spot, and yes that's where you would concentrate your deadening.

Right, the sub should probably be sitting where that "farthest away" arrow is drawn with the cone facing backwards (towards the trunk lid sitting a few inches away). In a sedan this location gives the least cancellation and therefore the most output and best sound quality. A few sedans don't follow this rule, but the majority do.

i like having my sub in the back where it is in the pic

the uhh front of the sub (where it says the name) faces the back of the car, the magnet is facing the front
