well im not sure why but my whole exhuast system and drive shaft is all rust. is this normal. Its been here at virginia beach all its life but i dont think its been in the sand. i wanted my torsion bars tightend up and the shop said they couldnt because the screws were to rusty. what can you do to prevent or remove rust.

Yes, it's normal. As of 02 they stopped painting the driveshafts and the steering gear box and they rust very quickly. It's harmless.

I have an 02 as well and my X has also been in Va Beach its entire life exept for the times that I take it down to the outer banks to go four wheeling on ght beach down there, and I do not have any prob with rust. I wash the under carrage after going on the beach every time and probably every month or so I have Car Spa clean it as well.
