BRACE!! BRACE!! BRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BUT SERIOUSLY HAVE IT DONE BY A PRO.
Or don't do it. or wait, full size??
A friend of a friend hacked off the top of his 94 S10 Blazer and it broke in half by the end of the summer. this was 3 yrs ago. he had the skills and big plans. just didn't realize the roof was a huge part ofthe trucks strength and overall integrity. im sure the trucks age and possibly rust might have played a part. but as soon as the top came off it sagged in the middle.

girlbear is right! The windshield and rest of body needs to be braced. how about a panaromic sunroof? maybe you should go check out the SSR's to see how the windshield is braced.

My friend did it to his "91" S-10. It came just fine. The only trick is placing a full cage roll bar that is welded to the frame behind the front seats and is attached to the through the floor board in the front to support your windshield. Looked pretty good. He made a snap on roof cover that attached to the roll bar just for those rainy days. The roll bar was also set up as a door jam to support the doors. Good Luck. As girlbear said. You should have a Pro work on it. My friend is a structure Engineer, so he planned everything out real well before he stared to chop away.
